Who can attend the seminars?
The course is intended to bring together different stakeholders in upper management and to create a platform of sharing and partnership, working towards the goal of sustainable development. As the main theme of the seminar series is that of partnerships, a wide variety of applicants are sought from ministries and agencies, local authorities, small and medium sized enterprises and multinational corporations.

Proposed minimum position of participant is Head of Department. If the civil servant is not in a leading position (ex: executing Civil Servant), can she/he apply?
We are encouraging candidates to express their motivation and highlight their experience. The selection will be based on primarily her/his experience related with sustainability, secondly their motivation.

Do the government have to pay participation fee?
All applicants from government and local authorities selected by the Evaluation Committee will receive a full scholarship.

Who else can be eligible for full scholarship?
SMEs and local companies are encouraged to contribute in participation fee. For exceptional cases, there is a possibility for full scholarship. Multinational companies are asked to pay the full participation fee.

What is the coverage of full scholarship?
All expenses such as air tickets, accommodation, breakfast and lunches are born by the project.
Dinners will be provided only on the nights that are indicated in the programme.

Do we need to send the original application documents by post?
No. You don’t have to send the original documents by post. Please ask confirmation of your documents reception either by fax or e-mail. Documents that are not confirmed to be registered by the Secretariat will not be accepted.

Is it possible for a former participant of “Course for Sustainability Programme” to apply for the new seminar series?
We are aiming to increase the number of individual who have experienced the programme for sustainability. Therefore, it is not possible to provide an additional privilege to former participants.

If an applicant is the director or the owner of the company, can we submit a letter of support from the Chamber of Commerce or Industry?
A letter of support is required to insure that the superiors are aware of the candidate’s intention of participation. In the mean time the superior recommends and supports the applicant as a representative of the institution to attend the seminar series in Istanbul and Venice.
The owner of the company does not need to submit a letter of support. But if the Chamber of Commerce and Industry supports him as a candidate, this document is good to submit to the selection committee.

What is the category of chambers of commerce and industry? Are they government or private?
Within the context of the Seminar Series, all participants from Chamber of Commerce and Industries are considered in the Private Sector group.

Can I participate to all the modules?
All plenary sessions in Istanbul and in Venice have to be attended by all participants. Each participant has to choose one elective module.

Do we receive a diploma at the end of the seminar?
Only participants who will complete all the programmes in Istanbul and Venice will receive a diploma. Ceremony will be held in Venice.
